About us
Allan Thomas has been involved in manufacturing, research and development and technical transfer positions for over 30 years. He holds a Dip.Pharm from Technikon Pretoria and MPharm and DPharm degrees from the Medical Faculty of the University of Pretoria.

FRom the Pharmaceutical Industry to Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education which became North-West University then...
After a long sojourn in the Pharmaceutical industry working for Wyeth SA (Pty) Ltd, Beechams SA (Pty) Ltd, Sterling-Winthrop (Pty) Ltd and lastly Adcock Ingram Ltd,. Allan was tempted to move to Academia. Allan was appointed Professional Services Director for the then Potchefstroom University which later became North-West University (NWU). In this position he oversaw the activities of the WHO Center for Quality Assurance of Medicines in Africa (CENQAM) as well as the Research Institute for Industrial Pharmacy (RIIP), South Africa's largest private pharmaceutical research and development company.

SCMS secondment then...
Allan was involved in lobbying US Congressional and Senate leaders to assist in supplying HIV and other much-needed medications at affordable prices to Africa. Allan was seconded to work with the Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) under the Partnership for Supply Chain Management, an NGO based in Boston, USA. This multinational effort involved over 30 companies and brought much needed HIV medication and support to the desperately ill all over the world. Allan commenced service in SCMS as the Quality and Quality Auditing Compliance Manager Manager with North-West University (NWU) supplying the overall quality control over the HIV medications supplied. In 2004 Allan was promoted Marketing Director for the Faculty of Health Sciences at NWU.

ATCPharma extends its services then...
ATCPharma (Pty) Ltd made inroads into the SA Pharmaceutical industry. ATCPharma consulted for many companies and aided in resolution of many GMP issues. ATCpharma continues to develop and refine more advanced and value-adding training programs and consulting interventions that respond to the needs of its clients as well as on-line short courses on its website www.atcpharma.co.za.
